Our History

Energy Efficiency Solar has been installing both commercial and residential solar systems in a diverse configurations since 1989. Its humble beginnings were initiated by Bob Siebert, who owned Orange County's first grid-tied solar photovoltaic system. In 2000, Siebert retired and sold the company to Bill Korthof, an ambitious entrepreneur with passions for renewable energies and clean, environmentally-friendly technologies. Since then, Bill has expanded Energy Efficiency to its present size and work volume. Bob Siebert still works with Energy Efficiency as a consultant.

Energy Efficiency has developed a close relationship with owners of electric vehicles. With their EVs, our customers are able to charge their vehicles at night using the energy they produced during the day. This lifestyle frees them from dependence on foreign oil, as well as enabling them to commute completely emission-free.

As awareness of solar energy has grown, and due to our success, Energy Efficiency has been rapidly growing to accommodate the increased demand for solar. Our low prices, expertise, and experience has consistently resulted in happy, energy-producing customers!

Company Infrastructure and Location

We maintain two offices: one main office (and main warehouse) in Pomona, California, and a satellite office in Orange. While the majority of our customers are in the Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Bernardino areas, we have also completed several systems in the San Diego and northern California areas at competitive prices.

We maintain three full-time work crews based in different areas for optimal coverage of Southern California.

Our Goals

We strive to make solar an affordable, commonplace alternative to conventional, centralized power distribution. Not only does it provide the customer with financial relief, it also benefits the energy provider by load-balancing electricity demand on the grid. We believe that solar is essential to our future as a society -- not only for independence for our energy needs, but also for a cleaner environment. With this goal in mind, we aim to provide quality service at low prices for our customers. As long as there's space, we hope to put solar on it!

As the California Energy Commission publishes system installation prices, Energy Efficiency consistently ranked as one of the major, lowest for cost-per-watt installations. As the solar panel and inverter technology matures, prices will come down and solar photovoltaic systems will become more viable for consumers. We strive to play a pivotal role in the industry.

An Energy Efficiency Solar Engineer will contact you. In many cases, we will require a visit to your home and evaluation of your energy usage, taking into account type of heating and cooling, lighting and other demands, insulation, appliances and other factors.

After inspection of your electric service, we will recommend a plan for becoming more energy efficient and whether rooftop solar electric power generation can fit into your future.
